Scripture Union at Fort Portal Secondary School
The Scripture Union reminds us of the profound importance of knowing God through His Word and living by its truths daily. As the Bible says, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). As a school community, we are called to let God’s Word guide our thoughts, choices, and actions.
Through prayer, fellowship, and the collective study of Scripture, we grow stronger in both faith and character. We are encouraged to “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly” (Colossians 3:16). Our Scripture Union is a sanctuary where hearts are encouraged, faith is fortified, and lives are transformed.
At Fort Portal S.S., we believe that true education shapes both the mind and the soul. This is why our school motto is Biblically centered, stating:
“THE FEAR OF GOD IS THE BEGINNING OF WISDOM” (Proverbs 9:10).
As students grow in academic knowledge, they also cultivate wisdom, integrity, and compassion.
AGod’s Word further encourages us to pursue excellence in everything we undertake: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord” (Colossians 3:23).
We are also reminded of the transformative power of kindness and unity: “Let all that you do be done in love” (1 Corinthians 16:14). Our school community is a place of respect, encouragement, and hope—a place where every learner is valued.
